Goodreads blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Ana is a scoundrel by nurture and an outlaw by nature. Found as a child drifting through space with a sentient android called D09, Ana was saved by a fearsome space captain and the grizzled crew she now calls family. But D09—one of the last remaining illegal Metals—has been glitching, and Ana will stop at nothing to find a way to fix him.

Ana’s desperate effort to save D09 leads her on a quest to steal the coordinates to a lost ship that could offer all the answers. But at the last moment, a spoiled Ironblood boy beats Ana to her prize. He has his own reasons for taking the coordinates, and he doesn’t care what he’ll sacrifice to keep them.

When everything goes wrong, she and the Ironblood end up as fugitives on the run. Now their entire kingdom is after them—and the coordinates—and not everyone wants them captured alive.

What they find in a lost corner of the universe will change all their lives—and unearth dangerous secrets. But when a darkness from Ana’s past returns, she must face an impossible choice: does she protect a kingdom that wants her dead or save the Metal boy she loves?

May Wrap Up

So, I’m a little late in posting this but May was a slow reading month for me. I only read 16 books.

I know, you may be going 16 books?! That’s not slow!

However, this year I have been reading a minimum of 20 books a month which allowed me to hit my reading challenge goal of 100 books last month.

  1. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas: 5/5 Stars.
  2. The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan: 3/5 Stars.
  3. Definitions of Indefinable Things by Whitney Taylor: DNF, 1/5 Stars.
  4. Geekerella by Ashley Potson: 3/5 Stars.
  5. Avenged by Amy Tintera: 1/5 Stars.
  6. Love & Misadventure by Lang Leav: 2/5 Stars.
  7. Buns by Alice Clayton: 4/5 Stars.
  8. A Shadow Bright & Burning by Jessica Cluess: DNF, 1/5 Stars.
  9. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin: 1/5 Stars.
  10. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon: 3/5 Stars.
  11. Waters Wrath by Elise Kova: 5/5 Stars.
  12. Salt by Nayyirah Waheed: 3/5 Stars.
  13. Crystal Crowned by Elise Kova: 3/5 Stars.
  14. Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke: DNF, 1/5 Stars.
  15. Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare: 5/5 Stars.
  16. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne: 5/5 Stars.

I did read a broad range of books this month, in my opinion. From high fantasy to poetry, to contemporary. I didn’t enjoy everything but what I did enjoy was absolutely phenomenal.

My favourite read of the month definitely goes to Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. I have never been left so completely shocked after the completion of a book. Cassie is a genius.

What was your favourite read of May?
